What to Expect at Your First Appointment

Ready to set up a no obligation financial review with a Westfield Investment Services advisor? Here’s what to expect when we first meet to discuss your financial future:

Let’s talk about you. “Where are you from? How big is your family? What are your career goals? What do you care about most? What have you always wanted to accomplish, but haven’t yet?” This isn’t small talk—understanding who you are and what you value has a big impact on how we proceed. 

No, you go first. We’re not here to talk at you. We’re here to listen to you, especially as we’re getting to know each other. We’ll answer any question, and explain who we are, how we work, and what we offer…but to start, the most valuable thing we can do is hear what you have to say, as you explain where you are today and where you want to be in terms of your financial goals.

Now, here’s what we can do. Once we know you, and you understand our approach, we’ll start to review possible products and services that might fit your needs. This is a two-way conversation—feedback is key.

What’s next. Once we’ve discussed the basics, and we have a sense of where you want to go, we’ll take some time to research and prepare a formal proposal to review with you. Once you’re comfortable with a plan, we’ll implement it. From there, we’ll meet with you at least once a year, and more often if there’s a change in the market or you have questions.
